1st hour: Applied Communication (8:15-9:05)

Monday, May 3

2. Written work:

Tuesday, May 4

1. Lesson 15: Applying What You Know, pp. 157-163.

2. Written work:

a. Worksheet p. 159.

b. Worksheet p. 163.

Wednesday, May 5

1. Module 6C test -- Over all lessons in Module 6.

Thursday & Friday, May 6 & 7 

1. Hand out explanatory sheet & go over it for the Job Description/Lieterature unit.

2. Hand out infor. sheets over writing job descriptions.

3. Read excerpts from A Christmas Carol and write a job description for Bob Crachett.

4. This work will continue next week.

2nd hour: College Writing (9:09-10:03)

Monday, May 3

1. Socratic Debate for students present Friday to receive instructions.

2. Absentee students -- Essay instructions over The Canterbury Tales. Essays are due Friday.

3. Socratic Debate students bring in texts to collect tomorrow. Essay students: Books are due Friday.

Tuesday, May 4

1. Collect texts from Socratic Debate students.

2. Hand out novel A Tale of Two Cities to all students.

3. Introduce the novel:

a. Author bio.

b. History/society info. of time period.

c. Anticipatory worksheet.

4. Reading Assignment: Read Book the First, ch.s 1-6, pp. 1-45 by Thursday.

Wednesday, May 5

1. Continue to read Book The First.

Thursday & Friday, May 6 & 7

1. Thursday -- Check test over Book the First.

2. Reading assignment -- Book the Second, ch.s 1-12, pp. 46-136.

3. Worksheet -- Book the Second, ch.s 1-12.

4. At the end of class on Friday the following:

  a. Collect worksheets.

b. Check test over Book The Second, ch.s 1-12.

5. Collect essays and texts from students finishing Chaucer unit.

  3rd hour: College Writing (10:07-10:59)

Same lessons and work as assigned to College Writing 2nd hour! However, they will be in my classroom all week. 

4th hour: Mythology (11:03-11:55)

Monday, May 3

1. Intorduction to American-Indian trickster myths.

2. Vocabulary words on board -- Definitions & sentences due by end of the hour.

Tuesday, May 4

1. Vocabulary worksheet -- due by end of the hour.

2. Read the two trickster myths.

3. Homework -- Study for vocabulary test.

Wednesday, May 5

1. Vocab. test.

2. Lecture/discussion -- two romance myths.

3.  Review for test.

Thursday & Friday, May 6 & 7 

1. Test:  Trickster myths. -- Thursday

2. Introduce American-Indian heroes myths.

3. Read the two heroes myths. This reading will continue into Friday.

 6th hour: Jr. High Newspaper (1:18-2:07)

1. Begin work on placemats. Must be completed by Friday.

7th hour: Mass Media ( 2:11-3:00)

1. Go over graded thumbnail designs in a group activity.

Tuesday, May 4

1. Introduce computer skills unit.

2. Assign teams.

3. Go over all bar & menu items.

Wednesday & Thursday, May 5 & 6

1. Cover the following:

a. Set up columns.

b. Transfering copy.

c. Inserting items to page and sizing items.

Friday, May 7

1. Knowledge test -- computer skills.

2. Assignment:  Due by end of next week:  Front page designs prepared on computer.

7th hour: Editorial Staff (2:11-3:00)

Monday, May 3

1. Delier newspapers & bills to advertisers downtown.

Wednesday - Thursday, May 4-6

1. Cover lessons with rest of class.

Friday, May 7

1. Knowledge test -- computer skills.

2. Start work on typing / photos/ etc. for senior paper.
