The Puxico R-8 School District is proud to announce that Mr. Ira Ray Tucker will be inducted into the Puxico Hall of Fame on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Mr. Tucker retired from the Puxico R-8 School District in 1998 after an incredible 30 years of service, concluding his career as a dedicated 5th-grade teacher. His influence and enthusiasm for education continue to inspire today—he still spends time each week mentoring youth, encouraging staff, and demonstrating his enduring Indian Pride.
Beyond his remarkable career in education, Mr. Tucker also served the community through his longtime employment with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Wappapello Lake, where he worked for 28 years before celebrating retirement at the young age of 82.
Mr. Tucker shared 55 beautiful years with his late wife, Mrs. Parlee Tucker, and now looks forward to celebrating this honor surrounded by loved ones—including his daughters, Rhonda Burchett and Sandra Wilson, his granddaughter, Lacey Fox, his sister, Donna Gilmore, and many other friends and family members.
Please join us in celebrating this well-deserved recognition at the
Puxico Hall of Fame Ceremony in January 2026.
Dinner event ticket information will be announced soon, and Mr. Tucker will also be honored between the scheduled games that evening.
