Now that summer school is in full swing we wanted to send out a reminder.

Puxico R-8 Offers Free Summer Meals to Children and Teens through USDA’s SUN Meals Program Puxico, MO

This summer, Puxico R-8 is proud to participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s SUN Meals program, offering free, nutritious meals to all children and teens 18 and under.

Through SUN Meals, families can ensure their kids continue to eat well when school is out—no registration or ID required.

“Good nutrition shouldn’t take a summer break,” said Ms. Brandy, Food Service Director, of Puxico R-8 School. “SUN Meals makes it easy for our community’s children to stay fueled and focused throughout the summer.”

Meal Details:
* Who: All children and teens 18 and under
* What: Free breakfast and/or lunch
* When: Tuesday, May 26, 2026 – Friday, June 19, 2026
* Monday-Friday
* Breakfast 7:30-8:00 a.m.
* Lunch 10:45 a.m.-12:10 p.m.
* Where: Puxico School Cafeteria
* How: No application, registration, or ID needed. Contact Ms. Brandy, and she will take care of everything! Pick up is required.

The USDA’s SUN Meals program helps ensure children have access to healthy meals and snacks throughout the summer months when school meals are not available. Meals follow USDA nutrition guidelines and are served in a safe, supervised environment.
