As students return to school, we are asking all drivers—especially our student drivers and parents—to slow down, stay alert, and watch carefully for school buses and children along our roads.
Flashing yellow bus lights mean PREPARE TO STOP—not speed up. Students may be approaching the bus or waiting nearby.
When the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, STOP and remain stopped until the lights are off and the stop arm has been withdrawn.
Many of our students live along rural roads and may need to cross the roadway when boarding or exiting the bus. A few extra seconds of patience can help keep every child safe.
A special thank-you to our dedicated bus drivers for safely transporting our students to and from school each day. We appreciate the important work you do!
Have a safe and wonderful school year at Puxico R-8!
