A special thank you to the Kohn family for welcoming our 8th grade students into their deli today for lunch. KOHN’S DELI in St. Louis is world renowned & has been featured on The Food Network Channel. But most importantly for our trip today, the folks that started the deli were Holocaust survivors who after the liberation, immigrated to the US. Mr. & Mrs. Kohn opened this deli which is still operated today by their grandchildren. Mr. Lory Kohn, the grandson, was grateful we travelled all that way to learn about the Holocaust & he asked us for a group picture with him & we were honored to do so.

What an amazing day! Our 8th graders showed the upmost respect today at the St. Louis Holocaust Museum. They had the great honor of meeting & listening to a Holocaust survivor, Ms. Rachel Miller. Ms. Miller was 8 Years old when the tragic events began to unravel for her & her family. She was the sole survivor out of her parents, 2 brothers & a sister not to mention the 96 other family members who also lost their lives during the Holocaust. Her story is one of tremendous strength & perseverance of any human being. We thank her for sharing her story with us today.
