This year at the National FFA convention we had two members, Seth Zimmerman and Eric Riddle, receive their American Degrees. The American Degree is the highest achievement you can receive as a member. It takes years of record keeping, hard work, and consistency. While our group was there, they got to see youth leadership on the national level and a career expo that host some of the largest names in agriculture.

The 8th grade girls’ team earned a decisive win tonight over the 8th grade Poplar Bluff Mules in their 2024 season closer. They went 15-1 this season with many wins having a large point spread. A huge shout out to all the support from the cheerleaders this season and to the dedicated fans showing up at all the games. One thing is for sure, we are certainly going to miss our two 8th grade players moving into high school next year and we can’t wait to cheer you both on. A BIG congratulations to the team, to the coaches and especially to Lilah Porter and Annabelle Allen! Job Well Done! #GoPuxico!

Puxico- JAG, Jobs for America's Graduates, had their Initiation and Installation Ceremony on September 26th. Students were recognized for their commitment to JAG in the hopes that they will acquire the skills they need to be successful in school and preparing for life after high school. This is high school's second year of JAG, and Jr. High picked it up for its first year this school year. Students will have the opportunity to listen to guest speakers from a variety of careers, tour different businesses, work on soft skills to help them be the best version of themselves, discover ways to help their community, meet and compete with JAG chapters from other schools, and more. Congratulations to the Puxico-JAG Chapter for the 2024-2025 school year!

Friday, Mrs. Woolard took several high school students to the Mingo Job Corps Open House where they celebrated their 60th anniversary. Students were able to see the trades that are offered such as heavy equipment, welding, forestry fire fighting, bricklaying, and more. Students also had the opportunity to talk to the instructors and students about their trade and even participated in demonstrations that were setup. The students enjoyed their time learning about all the trades offered nearby no cost to them.
