🚨 FAFSA Night Reminder! 🚨
Families of seniors, don’t forget that FAFSA Night is Wednesday, January 22nd, at the high school from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM!
To be prepared, make sure you’ve created your FAFSA ID. This step is essential to complete your FAFSA application. Instructions for creating the ID were sent home with students several months ago in their senior mailboxes, but here’s a quick reminder:
1️⃣ Visit https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
2️⃣ Follow the steps to create your FAFSA ID.
3️⃣ Write down your username and password in a safe place—you’ll need it for the application!
We’ll see you tomorrow to help complete this important step for your student’s future. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out before the event! 💻🎓

Dear Puxico R-8 School Community,
I am thrilled to share some fantastic news that exemplifies the commitment and dedication we value so deeply at our school!
Please join me in celebrating Mrs. Mandy McMillan for being named the V.F.W. District 15 Teacher of the Year!
Since joining our Puxico family in September 2005, Mandy has shown unwavering passion and dedication to shaping the minds and hearts of our students. Her impact on our community cannot be overstated, and we are so grateful for her years of service.
Mrs. McMillan's roots in education run deep, coming from a family of educators. She is not only an exemplary teacher, but also a loving wife to Brandon McMillan and a dedicated mother to her two wonderful sons, Grant and Luke.
Let’s all take a moment to express our appreciation for her hard work and commitment to making our school a better place.
Congratulations, Mrs. McMillan, on this well-deserved recognition!
With great pride,
Cindy Crabb
Superintendent

It was a great day back in the library. The library leaders for today 1-7-25.

Mrs. Smothers 6th Grade Social Students had review day using Christmas themed stations! From “The Wet Bandits” dismantling the U.S., The Scrooge scrambling the capitals and state names and finally making rhymes like Dr. Suess’ The Grinch using the names of states and capitals. The kids enjoyed doing something different for this review day!

It was so nice to have a visit from one of our favorite bakers. Thank you John Davis for staying up late and getting up early to make all these sweet treats. 😆
We are definitely spoiled!
Merry Christmas!

We scared off that mean old Grinch and now we are less than one week away from our Christmas Break.
This week will be a busy one with finals for JH & HS. Check in with your child and make sure they have everything good to go before the semester ends on Friday, December 20. We will dismiss on Friday at 12:30.
Finish this semester strong Puxico R-8! #GoPuxico

A huge thank you to Ozark Federal Credit Union for hosting an awesome Reality Fair for our seniors today! 🎉 They got a crash course in budgeting, organization, and financial skills to help them crush it in the real world. 💡💸
Big shoutout to the community pros who pitched in to share their expertise—it made all the difference!
Our students left feeling confident, prepared, and ready to budget before they spend.
What an amazing experience!

The Puxico Jr. High Beginning Band and Intermediate Band performed their Christmas Concert. They did an outstanding job! Thank you Mr. Luecke and Mrs. Lambert for working with our students and molding them into musicians.

A big thank you to the high school athletes for spending time in the elementary library reading to our students.

Friday night was a great night for the Puxico Varsity Indians. With friends and family in attendance we celebrated the accomplishments of the 23-24 Varsity team. The team was presented with their banner from last season and recognized between games. The 23-24 Varsity Indians had a record of 23-6 the best since 2007. The team also won a district title and a sectional title. Their quarterfinal appearance marks the furthest advancement in the state playoffs in over 65 years.

Students in Ms. Skillmans Science classes have been learning about earthquakes. They created posters about the Do’s and Dont’s during an earthquake.

Ranu Suthar, who is a foreign exchange student from India, came to share about her country, culture, and traditions, and even showed traditional jewelry worn by her mother and aunt, in Mrs. Smothers’ 6th grade Social Studies classes and 8th grade Current Events class right before Thanksgiving Break.
